A Simplified HRD
INDIVIDUAL
DEVELOPMENT MODEL
How important is an Individual Development Model?
- Assets depend on people to create value. (Persons, Groups,
Teams, Committees, Board, etc.)
- Customers and Vendors are also dependent on people.
- Organizations can rise only to the limits of their people's
capacities, skills and motivations.
- Human Resources Development (HRD) is one of two major models
that managers must understand to perform total quality management.
- HRD + OD = TQM
Human Resources Development Model
- The eight catagories of this OD MODEL are organized into three
groups based on needs.
- Each group defines a level of training, development and education
needed to be competitive.
- Each HRD catagory represents a set of skills that must be
recognized, met, and sustained to maximize productivity.
