Graphic Design - automotive ads
The number of automotive ads I've done has been limited, but on the whole they've been enjoyable. A dealership in Ligonier, Indiana has a Ford division and Chevy division. Most often these ads are run side-by-side, and when I did them I tried to give each division its own personality. The Chevy side I usually gave serif fonts and primary colours. The Ford side was usually designed with bold Futura fonts and secondary colours. The copy would come to me as a very rough layout from the dealer, and it was always a challenge to try to make something attractive that stayed true to what he wanted.
