Crime Stoppers tip leads to Guilty finding in a triple homicide
The Hacienda Restaurant in Mishawaka, Indiana was the location where the conversation was overheard. "I hated the little boy but didn't mean to hurt him. But I hurt him the worst." The man was speaking to another man at the table. He was trying to talk the second man into retrieving the "stuff out of the pop up ceiling" where the first man had said that he had hidden the items. When the second man asked him where the items were hidden, the first man replied "In a trailer on Douglas Rd." This was only some of the testimony which came out in the triple homicide trial of Wayne Kubsch. The woman who overheard the conversation became frightened, and along with her boyfriend moved from the table where they were sitting. It was at that time that the woman took a long look at the men who were talking in the next booth. About four days later, Crime Stoppers received a call and took the woman's information, passing it on to investigators.
The caller did not want to speak directly with an investigator at the time She wanted to remain anonymous because she now knew that the men were talking about the triple homicide of Beth Kubsch, her ex-husband, and her ten year old son.
The caller confided in another friend who contacted a private investigator. This investigator then made contact with the woman and asked if she would come forward and testify in this high profile case. She agreed to testify. Because of her information Wayne Kubsch was arrested on three counts of murder. The bloody clothes and weapon was found in a ceiling panel in a trailer on Douglas Rd. Wayne Kubsch went to trial in early June and was found guilty of the murders of all three victims. The motive allegedly was money. Kubsch had taken out a large insurance policy on his wife only three months earlier. Wayne Kubsch has since received a sentence of death for this heinous crime.
